The Aichi Prefecture Racing Committee announced that the 19-year-old Hikaru Ayanohime, the oldest active NAR racehorse, died on the 15th at pasture after suffering cardiac failure.

Hikaru Ayanohime is a daughter of Meisho Odo out of Golden Tasso, by Tasso. She made her debut in 2006 and has been running on NAR tracks around the country. She suffered an injury during a workout in April, and had been resting at pasture since.
