Stars on Earth tests positive for restricted substance

The Japan Racing Association announced on the 15th that Stars on Earth has tested positive for Flunixin, a restricted substance under the rules of the JRA. Trainer Mizuki Takayanagi was fined 100,000 JPY by the authority.
'Restricted' substances are regulated differently from the 'Banned' substances. Restricted substances are not considered to have a significant effect on the welfare of racehorses but horses under the medication of these substances horses are restricted from racing.
After research conducted by the JRA, Stars on Earth had no history of being medicated with Flunixin and trainer Takayanagi also expressed that he had no idea of Flunixin being injected into Stars on Earth.
The JRA further explained that, "(The) investigation took a long time to conduct with all the necessary research and interviews. This decision will not affect his past race record."
