Masquerade Ball is a colt who has proven his class at an early stage. He broke his maiden in August 2024 over 1600m, then followed up with victory in the Listed Ivy Stakes in October. After an uncharacteristic 11th-place finish in the G1 Hopeful Stakes, he rebounded to win the G3 Kyodo News Hai in February 2025, marking his first graded stakes triumph.
He kept his momentum with a 3rd place finish in the G1 Satsuki Shō (Japanese 2000 Guineas) and then finished 2nd in the G1 Tokyo Yūshun (Japanese Derby), demonstrating both maturity and top-level capability.
Museum Mile has established himself as a top-class colt in the middle-distance division. After showing promise as a two-year-old with victories in a maiden race and the Listed Kigiku Sho, he finished second in the G1 Asahi Hai Futurity Stakes.
In 2025, he captured the G1 Satsuki Sho (Japanese 2000 Guineas) in impressive style, then finished sixth in the G1 Tokyo Yushun (Japanese Derby). Later that year, he added the G2 St. Lite Kinen to his record, confirming his place among the leading colts of his generation.
Meisho Tabaru has developed into one of the most impressive colts in the middle-distance division. After showing steady improvement early in his career, he made a breakthrough in 2024 by winning the Listed Tsubaki Sho and then dominating the G3 Mainichi Hai by six lengths. Though he struggled in the G1 Satsuki Sho (Japanese 2000 Guineas), he rebounded to capture the G2 Kobe Shimbun Hai later that year.
In 2025, he finished fifth in the G1 Dubai Turf before claiming his first G1 victory in the G1 Takarazuka Kinen, completing a remarkable father-son G1 double with his sire, Gold Ship. With five wins from eleven starts, he continues to prove himself among the elite of his generation.
The Tenno Sho (Autumn), commonly referred to as "Akiten," is an international G1 horse race organized by the Japan Racing Association (JRA) for Thoroughbreds aged 3 and older. It forms part of the Autumn Triple Crown for older horses, along with the Japan Cup and Arima Kinen. Horses that win all three races in the same year are awarded a special bonus.
While the Tenno Sho is held twice a year, the Autumn version was shortened to 2000 meters in 1984, while the Tenno Sho (Spring) continues to be run over 3200 meters.
The race starts from a pocket located at the far end of the course, with three turns. The distance to the second corner is approximately 130 meters. The final stretch is 525.9 meters long, making it the second-longest straight in Japan after Niigata's outer track. There is a 1.5-meter incline just before the third corner, followed by a 2.1-meter uphill section midway through the home stretch. The third and fourth turns are relatively gentle.
