Satono Reve has established himself as one of Japan’s top sprinters on turf. Lightly raced early in his career, he put together a rapid rise through the sprint ranks in 2024, winning both the G3 Hakodate Sprint Stakes and the G3 Keeneland Cup for his first graded titles.
He reached a new high in 2025 when he captured the G1 Takamatsunomiya Kinen for his first G1 victory, then continued his strong run overseas with a runner-up finish in the G1 Chairman’s Sprint Prize in Hong Kong. Later that year, he traveled to Royal Ascot and again finished second in the G1 Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes, underlining his quality on the international stage.
Win Carnelian established himself as a high-class performer in Japan’s turf mile division, combining natural speed with a bold front-running style. After showing promise in major races early in his career, he continued to improve with maturity and enjoyed a breakthrough campaign in 2022, when he completed a three-race winning streak capped by victory in the G3 Sekiya Kinen.
In recent years, he gradually shifted toward sprint races, and after finishing runner-up in the G1 Al Quoz Sprint, he reached a career high at the age of eight by capturing last year’s Sprinters Stakes for his first G1 title.
Panja Tower has emerged as a talented performer with both speed and versatility on turf. After making a strong impression as a juvenile, he captured the G2 Keio Hai Nisai Stakes in 2024 to establish himself as one of the leading horses of his generation.
He took another major step forward in 2025 when he got up to win the NHK Mile Cup for his first G1 title, and later showed his adaptability by dropping back in trip to land the G3 Keeneland Cup, underlining both his quality and his range.
Takamatsunomiya Kinen is a horse racing competition held at Chukyo Racecourse by the Japan Racing Association (JRA). It is classified as an international G1 race. It is open to thoroughbred horses aged four and above and is run over a distance of 1200 meters on turf. As a spring sprint championship for older horses, it holds an international G1 status.
This race is originally known as the Takamatsunomiya Hai, and the race was contested over 2000 meters on turf as a Grade 2 event. However, in 1996, as part of the restructuring of sprint races, the race distance was shortened to its current 1200 meters. The race is typically held at the end of March and allows international entries from 2001.
Chukyo 1200m turf course : The course layout features a slight incline in the first 120 meters, followed by gentle slopes leading into the corners. The corners themselves are negotiated through slightly tight spiral curves. The final straight, measuring 412.5 meters, presents a unique challenge with a steep incline from the 340-meter mark to the 240-meter mark, creating a significant elevation change of approximately 2 meters. This steep gradient, second only to the one at Nakayama Racecourse, often plays a crucial role in determining the race's outcome. The last 240 meters of the straight is relatively flat, where horses make their final dash to the finish line. This track layout often leads to thrilling finishes and adds to the race's excitement and unpredictability.
