On the rain-sodden turf of Nakayama Racecourse, Emu had no problem in recording the fastest last 3 furlongs of the16 runners to secure her first graded stakes title.

After a poor start, Emu settled in second-last position and slowly maneuvered her way to the front approaching the penultimate turn. Entering the straight, Emu was asked to pick up from the outside and quickly drew clear of the field.

This was M. Demuro's first time aboard Emu, and the jockey said, "She was very keen and I struggled to settle her. I was not sure if she would respond to me but she picked up very well. She was a different horse in the home straight."
