Titleholder cruised through heavy Nakayama turf to win the G2 Nikkei Sho by eight lengths. Kazuo Yokoyama and Titleholder positioned themselves at the front of affairs and outclassed their rivals in the last few furlongs. Boccherini couldn't lay a glove on Titleholder and finished second.

Diastima finished third whilst race favourite Ask Victor More finished ninth after a slow start.

Titleholder is a son of Duramente out of Mowen, by Motivator. This is his sixth graded stakes victory and he will now aim for his seventh in the G1 Tenno Sho Spring.
