Ahead of this weekend's G1 Sprinters Stakes, Netkeiba has taken a look at the most notable runners. Of these, Satono Reve has been showing remarkable form recently, displaying an impressive level of maturity and power. Despite facing a stronger field in his first G1 race, his ability puts him right in the mix for a strong performance. The main contenders for this highly anticipated race are as follows.

Satono Reve made his debut as a 3-year-old and has had to overcome two long layoffs due to hoof issues. Despite these setbacks, he has managed to win 7 out of 9 starts. His worst finish was a 4th in the G3 Hankyu Hai over 1400m, which came after a 10-month break. Over 1200m, however, he is a standout, winning 6 out of 7 starts. His pedigree adds to the appeal, his half-brother Hakusan Moon was a force to be reckoned with in the Sprinters Stakes and Takamatsunomiya Kinen. With Damian Lane in the saddle, Satono Reve is considered one of the top chances here.

Namura Clair, who had a troubled run in her comeback race in the Keeneland Cup but still managed a respectable finish on the board, should not be overlooked. This consistent performer regularly competes well in the G1 sprints over 1200m, including the Sprinters Stakes and Takamatsunomiya Kinen. A strong rebound is expected, with Takeshi Yokoyama taking the reins.

Other key contenders include last year's Sprinters Stakes champion Mama Cocha, who showed promise with a second-place finish in the G2 Centaur Stakes despite returning from a break and carrying an additional 10kg. Win Marvel, who was runner-up in 2021 and has claimed three graded stakes victories since last year, also looks strong. Mad Cool, who finished second in last year's race and won the Takamatsunomiya Kinen this spring, is another serious contender. Victor The Winner, to be ridden by Joao Moreira, adds an extra layer of intrigue.

The race for the 6-furlong G1 crown promises to be a thrilling contest. Post time is 3:40 p.m. (JST).
