Lugal, the 9th favourite, claimed his first G1 victory in the G1 Sprinters Stakes, with jockey Atsuya Nishimura (25) also breaking his duck in securing his first Japan Racing Association G1 win in his 7th year of racing. Toshin Macau, the 5th favourite, finished in 2nd place, followed by 4th favourite Namura Clair in 3rd. The race favourite, Satono Reve, ended up in 7th place.

As Puro Magic set an extremely fast pace, Lugal tracked in 3rd position. Gradually closing the gap, Lugal surged ahead in the stretch, holding off the chasing pack to secure victory. A thrilled Nishimura said, "I'm really glad I chose this career as a jockey. After the disappointment in the Takamatsunomiya Kinen, this win feels amazing. I had let the Lugal team down in the Takamatsunomiya Kinen, so I'm relieved to have won the Sprinters Stakes. Honestly, I don't even remember much of the race itself."

When asked who he wanted to thank, he emotionally replied, "I guess my mother. She raised me by herself, so I'm deeply grateful to her." Reflecting on his achievement, Nishimura added, "I'm also immensely thankful to Lugal, the staff at Sugiyama Stable, and everyone connected to Lugal. Becoming a G1 jockey was one of my goals, but I still have many more goals ahead. I'll keep pushing forward with everything I've got."
