Myriad Talent

A fitting addition to an internationally diverse week, British-bred Myriad Talent is set to make her debut in Saturday's Race 5 at Tokyo Racecourse (1600m turf). The 2-year-old filly is from the first crop of 2020 Arc de Triomphe winner Sottsass, with close ties to 2011 Mile Championship winner Eishin Apollon, suggesting she could adapt well to Japanese turf.

Since arriving at the stable on October 30, Myriad Talent has been progressing steadily. In her final trackwork on Wednesday at the Miho Training Center woodchip track, she posted a strong 6F in 84.2 seconds, finishing with a sharp 11.6 seconds for the last furlong.

Trainer Takayuki Kato is optimistic, "She's moving well. Every jockey who's ridden her praises her stride and says she feels great to ride. I believe she's got talent."

Currently weighing about 430kg, Kato added, "If I had to say, I'd like her to grow a little more, but as it stands, she has no real weaknesses. I'm excited about her potential."

Partnered with jockey Ryusei Sakai, Myriad Talent is ready to ignite the Tokyo turf.
