The second juvenile G1 race of the season is the G1 Asahi Hai Futurity Stakes, which has been won by horses that have raced just twice in the last three consecutive years: Do Deuce in 2021, Dolce More in 2022 and Jantar Mantar in 2023. Four of this year's runners fit that description.
Panja Tower, winner of the G2 Keio Hai Nisai Stakes, is seeking his first G1 victory on his third career start. It is safe to say that he is one of the best of his generation in terms of his current level of form. He overcame a bumpy track in his last race and, as trainer Hashiguchi says, "He has the body of a sprinter, but he can be controlled by waiting for the jockey's instructions".
In the final week's training, he easily outpaced his stablemates. The jockey says: "He can handle the 1600 meter race and there are no problems at this stage. The Tower of London colt will be a star at the end of the season.
