Costa Nova with Takeshi Yokoyama on board won Sunday's G3 Negishi Stakes at Tokyo Racecourse. Lord Fons finished second, four lengths behind the winner, and Alpha Mom came home in third, two lengths behind Lord Fons. The winning time was 1:22.6.

The winner, Costa Nova, is by Lord Kanaloa out of Colorful Blossom, whose sire is Heart's Cry. He finished sixth in his previous start, his first NAR appearance in the Cluster Cup. However, he rebounded strongly at his favourite track, Tokyo Racecourse, where he had been undefeated in four prior starts, to claim his first graded stakes victory. With this win, he has also secured a priority entry for the G1 February Stakes.
