Panthalassa after winning Saudi Cup

Trainer Yoshito Yahagi has announced that Panthalassa's next target will be the British G1 Sussex Stakes over a mile on August 2nd. Plans beyond the Glorious Goodwood venture remain fluid, but the International Stakes or a return to Japan for the Tenno Sho (Autumn) have been mentioned.

Yahagi further elaborated on the decision to travel overseas once again "We had the idea of a mile race somewhere, I think the Sussex Stakes on a tough course would suit. The International Stakes is the flattest one-turn race in the UK, and I have the image of it being suited to a speed type of horse."

Since finishing down the field in the Dubai World Cup, the $10m Saudi Cup victor has been having a spell. Yahagi Commented on his stable star "He was quite tired but seems to be recovering well now. He will return to Ritto Training Centre in a month, I'm confident that is plenty of time."
