Son of Deep Impact, Vin de Garde heads to stud in Brazil

The Brazilian Stud Book announced on 24th April local time that Vin de Garde will stand in Brazil for stud duties.
Vin de Garde is a son of Deep Impact out of Skia, by Motivator, and a half-brother to this year's G1 Satsuki Sho winner Sol Oriens. His career record is five wins from 23 starts including victory in the G2 Fuji Stakes back in 2020. He also finished second in G1 Dubai Turf in 2021 and was third in 2022. Vin de Garde developed tendonitis in the left front limb after finishing 14th in the Dubai Turf this year, and was subsequently announced as retired.
Agnes Gold is well-known for his success in Brazil. As a son of Deep Impact, Vin de Garde is expected to extend the influence of Japanese bloodlines.
