Romantic Warrior teamed up with J. McDonald to win G1 Queen Elizabeth II Cup. This was the third G1 title for Romantic Warrior and successfully retained the QEII Cup. Connections were quick to announce that the G1 Tenno Sho (Autumn) in Japan is under consideration.

Japanese runner Prognosis came from off-the-pace and finished second two lengths behind the comprehensive winner. Trainer Mitsumasa Nakauchida commented, "The jockey wanted to go wide, but there was no space. However, he was the only one who challenged Romantic Warrior from the back so I'm very proud of him. We are still not sure about the future plan but since he did great in this world-class race, I am sure that he has a good chance to win domestic G1."

The two remaining Japanese-raiders, Danon the Kid finished in fifth and Geraldina came home in sixth.
