Ho O Seimei, a two-year-old colt by Rey de Oro, is set to make his debut in the fifth race at Kokura on Sunday, over 1800 meters on turf. This February born colt was knocked-down for a remarkable value of 180 million yen (excluding tax) at the Select Foal Sale in 2021. He is from the same family as stablemate and graded stakes winner Black Spinel.
On the 9th, a week prior to his race, Ho O Seimei impressed in a breeze by leading the workout with two other horses on the training track at Ritto. Assistant Trainer Ikuno emphasized, "He's been showing plenty of ability even compared to his siblings at the same period. It's exciting considering his pedigree as well." With the unfortunate career-ending injury that befell his sibling, Ho O Seimei aims to achieve success to fulfil the promise that Black Spinel could not on the turf.
