We interviewed the stable staff who is in charge of the care of Kitasan Black at Shadai Stallion Station where he continues his remarkable start to his breeding career.

Interviewer - "What is his stable name?"

Stud hand - "We call him, Kitasan, or just Black."

Interviewer - "What's his personality like?"

Stud hand - "He is easy to handle andbehaves just like other stallions. My co-workers also agree that he is nice and calm."

Interviewer - "Kitasan Black is having a great start to his career as a sire, producing progenies such as Equinox. How do you rate this start?"

Stud hand - "It's as close to perfect as possible! He has produced Equinox from his first crop. From the second crop, he has produced G1 Satsuki Sho winner Sol Oriens, Kona Coast who finished second in the G1 Oka Sho, and the G3 Artemis Stakes winner Ravel. Wilson Tesoro is a black-type winner on dirt as well. He also has a great record in terms of individual winners to average prize money earned."

Interviewer - "How is he doing this summer?"

Stud hand - "He is having a well-earned vacation after a busy stud season. He gets along with other sires easily and is having a peaceful time.

Interviewer - "What is your take on his future career as a sire?"

Stud hand - "I think it will be difficult to produce progenies like Equinox and Sol Oriens every year, but he has done it for the first two crops. That gives me a little hope that there might be possibilities to do that every year. I hope there will be a few of his sons coming back as a sire to our stud to continue his bloodline. Additionally, we have more bookings from higher-quality mares compared to his first two seasons. This increases the chance of producing more monsters like Equinox, or even better!"
