Gonbade Qabus, with Kohei Matsuyama on board, showed an abundance of speed to remain unbeaten in the G3 Saudi Arabia Royal Cup on Saturday. Bond Girl challenged Gonbade Qabus in the final furlong from the middle of the pack, but finished second two lengths behind the winner. Strauss came home in third, a neck behind Bond Girl.

Gonbade Qabus is a son of Bricks and Mortar out of Affilato, by Deep Impact. This is the first graded stakes winner from the first crop of Bricks and Mortar.
