It didn't take long for Bricks and Mortar to produce his first black-type winner. Gonbade Qabus scored a first graded stakes title in the G3 Saudi Arabia Royal Cup and remains unbeaten. Sent off favourite for the race, Bond Girl finished second, two lengths behind the winner. The winning time was 1:33.04.

Winning jockey Kohei Matsuyama reflected, "I focused on the rhythm and he traveled really well in the home stretch. That was impressive. We are figuring out what distance suits him the best but he is an all-rounder. He runs well in different distance ranges and he can win from the front or from the back. I love his racing style."
