Equinox has been retired from racing and is heading to Shadai Stallion Station for his new career as a sire. He has a good chance of having a great career as a sire and his stud fee will likely be between 15,000,000 and 20,000,000JPY. Stud farms around Japan including Shadai Group will be sending their best mares to him even with that fee.

Kitasan Black, Contrail, and Suave Richard are grandsons of Sunday Silence but Equinox is a great-grandson of Sunday Silence. This is a great sales point for the farms as his progeny will be the fourth generation of the great Sunday Silence line. Mating with mares sired by Deep Impact, there will be a cross of full brothers Black Tide and Deep Impact. This could be the new trend in the Japanese breeding scene.

The first crop of Equinox will make begin to debut on racetracks in four years, and we cannot wait to see how Japanese racing will change with Equinox.
