G2 Tokyo Sports Hai Nisai Stakes winner Strauss clocked 50.4 seconds for the final four furlongs as he prepared for the G1 Asahi Hai FS. This is the fastest recorded time on the slope course at Miho Training Center. We interviewed trainer Ryo Takei after the workout.

Interviewer - "What is your take on his last start in the G2 Tokyo Sports Hai Nisai Stakes?"

Ryo Takei - "He had a high body temperature at the pasture farm but it was not severe so we ran him in the race. He did well with Moreira and it was a good education day."

Interviewer - "What do you think of his final work?"

Ryo Takei - "He went faster than we expected and that just shows you his potential."

Interviewer - "How is he mentally?"

Ryo Takei - "Damian Lane told me that he could not control him in his debut race, but now that he's used to racing he knows what he is doing now. He is quick to respond and accelerate."

Interviewer - "How do you choose jockeys that suit him?"

Ryo Takei - "He is still young and sometimes does not listen, so his jockeys have to have the power to control him. That is why I choose foreign jockeys."
