The National Association of Racing (NAR) announced on October 1st that French jockey Mickaelle Michel has been granted a short-term jockey license, marking her second such license, the first since 2020.
Michel previously rode under a short-term license from January 27 to March 31, 2020, as part of the Kawasaki regional racing where she rode in 267 races and achieved 30 wins. During that time, she set a new record for the most wins in a single short-term license period for NAR racing, surpassing previous records held by jockeys Alan Munro and Ryan Curatolo.
Her upcoming stint will run from Monday, October 7 to Friday, December 20, with her base of operations to be at the Yuya Yamazaki Stable in the Kawasaki region. Her riding will primarily be limited to the Minami-Kanto region, except when riding Minami-Kanto-based horses in exchange races in other regions.
