Sixpence to avoid G1 Satsuki Sho in favour of G1 Japanese Derby

The ownership group behind the unbeaten G2 Spring Stakes winner Sixpence, Carrot Club has announced that he will skip the G1 Satsuki Sho (Japanese 2000 Guineas) to run in the G1 Japanese Derby.
He is currently at Northern Farm Tenei in Fukushima Prefecture for pasture and the farm reported that he was lame after the Spring Stakes. Connections have decided that it is impossible for him to run in the Satsuki Sho and will be running in the Derby instead.
