Sol Oriens Introducion

Sol Oriens is a Japanese thoroughbred by Kitasan Black out of Skia by Motivator trained by Takahisa Tezuka. His dam Skia has produced two graded stakes winners including Sol Oriens and Vin de Garde, the winner of the G2 Fuji Stakes and placed second in the G1 Dubai Turf. Sol Oriens himself is a winner of two graded stakes, G1 Satsuki Sho (Japanese 2000 Guineas) and G3 Keisei Hai. He has also been placed in all six starts which include two classics where he finished second in the G1 Japanese Derby and third in the G1 Kikuka Sho (Japanese St. Leger) behind Tastiera.
