Third favourite Puro Magic secured a brilliant wire-to-wire victory in the G3 Kitakyushu Kinen, marking back-to-back graded stakes wins and earning high praise from her jockey Kohei Matsuyama. The ninth Yoshino Easter finished second and the unfancied Mozu Meimei came home in third, resulting in a massive upset with a trio payout of 257,690 yen and a trifecta payout of 798,750 yen.

Puro Magic broke swiftly from the gate to take the lead and maintained a strong pace throughout. Despite the fast early fractions, she showed excellent stamina down the final stretch, holding off the fierce challenge from Yoshino Easter to secure the win. Jockey Kohei Matsuyama beamed with pride post-race, and reported: "She broke well and ran a great race. The early pace was fast, but she held on firmly. It was great to see her perform so well on the opening week track at Kokura Racecourse."

With this win, Puro Magic followed up her previous G3 Aoi Stakes victory with another graded stakes triumph. "It's not easy to win back-to-back graded stakes races. She has a bit of a temperamental side, but the stable has done a great job preparing her, and that's why she's been able to perform consistently," Matsuyama proudly remarked.
