Admire Mars off the mark as a sire with Jardinier breaking her maiden

On the 6th, in the Race 2, a Two-Year-Old Maiden at Kokura Racecourse, the favourite Jardinier, ridden by jockey Ryusei Sakai, secured victory by 3 and 1/2 lengths over the fifth favourite Manamin. Tracking the leaders throughout, Jardinier was eased to the lead in the home stretch, showing a likeable turn-of-foot. The winning time was 1:48.6. Third place went to the third favourite O Shin Es, who finished 2 and 1/2 lengths further back.

Jardinier is a filly by Admire Mars out of the Heir Kitty, whose is by Wildcat Heir. Admire Mars won the 2018 Asahi Hai Futurity Stakes, the 2019 NHK Mile Cup, and the 2019 Hong Kong Mile, all G1 mile races. This win isthe first victory for his progeny in both JRA and NAR racing. Although Jardinier finished second in her debut race last month on the 8th, she lived up to the expectations as the overwhelming race favourite.
