Shin Emperor (three-year-old colt), who finished 3rd in the Irish Champion Stakes, completed his final track work on September 27th at the Aigles Training Center in France, in preparation for the G1 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe (October 6th, ParisLongchamp). Ridden by Christian Demuro (with Ryusei Sakai set to take the reins on race day), he worked on the turf course in his final tune-up.
Christian Demuro, who was the regular jockey of Shin Emperor's full brother Sottsass, the 2020 Arc winner, commented, "I think he'll handle the heavy ground well. Like Sottsass, he showed a bit of playfulness, but compared to the Arc horses I've ridden in the past, he definitely has a chance to win." Groom Oka added, "Christian mentioned he felt even better than last time, and it's encouraging that his condition has improved since the Irish Champion Stakes."
