Obamburumai and Yutaka Take cruised through the heavy Hanshin turf on Saturday to win the G3 Arlington Cup. It was a second graded stakes success for Obamburumai after winning Keio Hai Nisai Stakes back in 2022. Yutaka Take positioned Obamburumai a few lengths behind the leaders to conserve energy and his plan worked perfectly for the pair. When Obamburumai was asked to go forward in the home straight, he responded with power, sticking to his task with great stamina. The top three finishers all won an entry spot to the G1 NHK Mile Cup.

On his victory aboard Obamburumai, Take said: "This was the first time I've ridden him in a race but I saw him moving quite well in gallops so I was looking forward to this race. When I took him to the outside in the last corner, he was ready to make a run so I knew he has enough left to catch up to the leaders." On future plans for Obamburumai, Take added: "He is one of the best milers of his age group and I think he will do great in the NHK Mile Cup. He won in Tokyo and the distance suits him as well."
