Seiun Hades, sent off as the sixth favourite, produced a stunning comeback to capture the G3 Epsom Cup in a course-record time of 1:43.9 over ground rated slightly heavy. Settling in mid-pack, the son of Silver State surged powerfully in the stretch under a vibrant ride by jockey Hideaki Miyuki, claiming his second graded stakes title, following his 2023 Tanabata Sho win. The race favourite, Douradores, closed strongly from the rear but could only manage second, while 10th favourite Tosen Ryo finished third.

A jubilant Miyuki said, "He was really strong today. I was a bit worried because we hit the front too early, but he's a very talented horse. He's had some setbacks and was off for nearly a year, but he showed just how strong he is today."

It was Seiun Hades' first win in about a year and 10 months since the Tanabata Sho. "The stable had him in great condition. This was a real test for him, especially after such a long layoff, but he exceeded all expectations with this performance," Miyuki added, praising the horse's resilience and raw ability.
