Veteran stablehand Takatoshi Imanami is aiming for his fourth G1 victory with Sodashi and approaching a defining moment in his career. Having worked with the likes of the captivating Gold Ship, as well as Red Reveur and Sodashi, Imanami has amassed 10 G1 wins. Considering his health, he has decided to retire from his career as a horseman in July, ahead of his scheduled retirement in September. Fascinated by horses from a young age, Imanami has dedicated 48 years of his life to this world, always facing the horses' lives head-on. At the core of it all is his deep love for horses.

Undoubtedly, Gold Ship played a significant role in his career, as Imanami recalls, "He gave me dreams. I never knew what he would do next, so I used to accompany him for training on the uphill track, walking 30,000 steps a day. But once he finished running, he would come to me seeking affection, and he was so adorable." Speaking with a gentle and warm expression, Imanami plans to watch horse racing from the outside after retiring, and he even has plans to visit Gold Ship.

"At the moment, Sodashi is keeping the dream alive for me. It happened at a time when I was considering retirement, so I am really glad to have met her," he reflected on the three years since her debut. "She is always adorable, and I am looking forward to seeing her offspring. They will surely be cute," he said with a radiant smile.

On the morning of the race day, Sodashi prepared for the upcoming event with exercises around the stable. The caretakers have been diligently caring for her, making sure every aspect is attended to. "We have taken care of her body meticulously. Now, all we can do is pray for her safe return," Imanami expressed his feelings much like a parent seeing off their child. This final grand task marks the culmination of his career as a groom. In their last race together, with his most beloved partner whom he has shared joys and hardships, Imanami aims to end on a high note, showcasing their success.
