Equinox in the G1 Takarazuka Kinen
On June 26th, the G1 Takarazuka Kinen took place at Hanshin Racecourse. As widely expected, overwhelming favourite, Equinox emerged as a comprehensive winner. With this win, the four-year-old colt earned prize money of JPY 220 million and an additional bonus of JPY 3,696,000.
His total career prize money now amounts to JPY 1,489,181,100, catapulting him to the 7th position in the earnings ranking for Japanese horses in the history, and second among active horses, narrowly behind Panthalassa.
Equinox's next intended target is the G1 Japan Cup, if victorious in Japan's richest race, he will surpass his sire, Kitasan Black, and the JRA super-mare, Almond Eye. Hypothetically, he would become Japan's Leading earner in both the active and all-time earnings rankings at just four years old.
