After winning two consecutive races, Elton Barrows with Atsuya Nishimura made it three in a row and won a first graded stakes title in the G3 Radio NIKKEI Sho. The pair positioned upfront after a smooth start and took over the race in the home stretch. Schilthorn finished second, a half-length behind the winner, and Lebensstil came home in third.

Elton Barrows is a son of Deep Brillante out of Shonan Carat, by Brian's Time. It took five races to break his maiden but he won three consecutive races after winning that maiden, making him a G3 winner.
