On the 2nd of July, the Irish Derby was run at the Curragh Racecourse. In the hands of Ryan Moore, Auguste Rodin raced in the 3rd position on the rail. In the homestretch, the Aidan O'Brien-trained colt unleashed a strong kick to prevail by a length and a half, pulling away from Adelaide River who stayed-on tenaciously.

With this victory, Auguste Rodin completed the Derby-double, winning both the English and Irish Classics. He became the 19th horse in history to accomplish this feat and first since Harzand in 2016.

It is worth noting that San Antonio, ridden by jockey W. Lordan and racing in the 2nd position on the outside, had to be pulled up as the jockey fell during the race. The winning time was 2 min 33.24 seconds.

Auguste Rodin, is an Irish-bred colt by Deep Impact out of Rhododendron (Galileo). He represents the final crop of Deep Impact. His success in the English Derby, means all 13 generations of Deep Impact's offspring have produced Classic winners. Auguste Rodin has a career record of 5 wins from 7 races.
