Seiun Hades with Hideaki Miyuki im the saddle showed off his speed and power in the G3 Tanabata Sho to win his first graded stakes race. Miyuki commented, "He was travelling really well and we raced as we planned. Since he started wearing blinkers, he is focusing more and staying calm as he did today. He's got the potential to win more races so we will try out best to lead him to more greatness."

Kukuna finished second and Ho O Emmy's came home in third. The favourite of the race, Battle Born finished fourth.
