In the turf 2000m G3 Hakodate Kinen, the favourite, four-year-old colt Rousham Park, made a powerful late surge on the outside in the stretch to secure his first career stakes victory. Ruby Casablanca, the fourth favourite, finished 2nd, followed by the second favorite, Blow the Horn, in 3rd.
Rousham Park was positioned in mid-pack throughout the race and displayed impressive acceleration when jockey Christophe Lemaire asked for his best in the straight. Lemaire expressed his satisfaction, stating, "He ran calmly and I was able to utilize his strong finishing kick from the 3rd and 4th corners. Today, he put on an excellent performance."
The highly anticipated four-year-old colt, who finished 3rd in the G2 St.Lite Kinen and won his previous race, the Murasaki Sho, finally captured a coveted stakes title. Lemaire added, "He was able to win at the stakes level. Although he is still only four years old, he is a big horse and has been getting stronger. He still has room to improve." Expectations are high for his future success on even bigger stages.
