The G3 Hakodate Kinen, held on the 16th at Hakodate Racecourse, featured a field of three-year-olds and up competing over a distance of 2000 meters on turf. Ridden by jockey Christophe Lemaire, four-year-old colt Rousham Park made a wide move from the middle of the pack and surged ahead to win by a two-length margin to justify favouritism. He finished ahead of the fourth favourite Ruby Casablanca, who made a strong late charge along the inside. The winning time was 2 min 1.4 sec.
Finishing just a head behind in third place was second favourite Blow the Horn. The third favourite, Arata finished in 9th place.
The victorious Rousham Park, with a pedigree of Harbinger as the sire, Renette Groove as the dam and King Kamehameha as the maternal grandsire, achieved a significant milestone by securing his first ever stakes victory. Despite having only one win to his name last autumn, he displayed his potential by finishing third in the G2 St.Lite Kinen and now celebrates a well-deserved triumph in this prestigious graded race.
