Equinox in G1 Takarazuka Kinen
On the 14th, the International Federation of Horseracing Authorities (IFHA) updated its 2023 rankings, based on the world's major races held from January 1st to July 9th.
Equinox maintains his position as number one on the strength of his performance in the G1 Dubai Sheema Classic. Despite winning the G1 Takarazuka Kinen since the previous update, his rating remained at 129 pounds. British-based Mostahdaf was previously tied for 13th place, moved up to second place. Although he finished 4th in the Dubai Sheema Classic, his performance in the Prince of Wales's Stakes earned him a rating 128 pounds.
Three horses remained locke in a tie for third place. Golden Sixty and Lucky Sweynesse both from Hong Kong, are now joined by three-year-old colt Paddington, trained in Ireland.
Among other Japanese horses, Titleholder ranks 6th with a rating of 124 pounds, while Ushba Tesoro is tied for 10th place with a rating of 122 pounds.
