The owners group of the G1 Japanese Derby winner Shahryar, Sunday Thoroughbred Club announced that Shahryar has started an exercise and training program for the upcoming fall racing season at Northern Farm Kuko in Hokkaido.

Shahryar is the son of Deep Impact out of Dubai Majesty by Essence of Dubai. He won the Japanese Derby in 2021 finishing ahead of Efforia who later became the JRA Horse of the Year. Shahryar travelled to Dubai last year and won the G1 Longines Dubai Sheema Classic and finished second in the G1 Japan Cup. He will aim for his comeback after finishing 11th in his last start in the G2 Sapporo Kinen.
