Breakup was seen at Caulfield Racecourse during final preparations for a tilt at the G1 Caulfield Cup with jockey Damian Lane. The pair completed a six-furlong workout on the turf course.

Lane commented, "He adapted to the ground quickly and will not be a problem for the race as well. I think he has a good chance of winning and I am really looking forward to the race." Trainer Yoshioka added, "He is quick to jump out of the gate so starting from inside will be great for him."
