This weekend's racing will consist of three graded stakes including the G1 Japan Cup. Here we offer a preview of the feature race.

2022 G3 Kyodo Tsushin Hai winner Danon Beluga has been a consistent performer at G1 level. He finished fifth in last year's Japan Cup despite the disadvantage he faced in the homestretch. His sire, Heart's Cry, has produced two Japan Cup winners in the past 10 years and Heart's Cry himself finished second in the race.

Shonan Bashitto is an interesting horse to pay attention to. He finished fifth in this year's G1 Satsuki Sho, and was only 0.7 seconds behind the winner, which is not too far behind both Sol Oriens and Tastiera. He is also able to race from any position in the pack and he could spring a surprise amongst this strong field.

G1 Japanese Derby winner Do Deuce will aim to go back to the winner's circle once again. Keita Tosaki will take the reins after Yutaka Take was sidelined with an injury. Do Deuce is also by Heart's Cry and fits the conditions of the race.
