Owners group Silk Horse Club announced on the 30th that six-time G1 winner Equinox will retire from racing and will be moved to Shadai Stallion Station for stud duties. He finished his career as the world's best-rated racehorse and the highest-earning racehorse in Japanese racing history with total earnings of 2,215,446,100 JPY, passing the previous record of Almond Eye.

The connections mentioned that Equinox is not ready to run in the G1 Arima Kinen after the Japan Cup and will be unable to fully heal in time for the Grand Prix. Instead of heading to Nakayama Racecourse, he will be heading to Shadai Stallion Station for his new career as a sire.

His career record is eight wins from 10 starts including six-straight G1 titles in Dubai and Japan. He has never placed below second and finished off his career with a near-perfect record.
