Sent-off favourite, Regaleira and Christophe Lemaire concluded the 2023 racing season with a G1 title in the Hopeful Stakes at Nakayama Racecourse. Shin Emperor finished second and Sunrise Zipangu came home in third. The winning time was 2:00.2.

Winning jockey Lemaire commented, "We could not jump out of the barrier smoothly and were forced to race from the rear position. She was calm all the way and it was very smooth to go up front and I was amazed by her speed in the homestretch; 2024 will be a fun year."

Christophe Lemaire concluded 2023 with seven domestic G1 titles including three aboard Equinox. "I just want to say thank you to all the fans who supported me throughout the year. The roar from the crowd for every race cheered me up. Looking forward to seeing you all back at the races next year and have a great new year," he added with a big smile.
