Daiwa Major became the 11th sire to score 1300 wins in Japanese racing history. Daiwa Major is a son of Sunday Silence out of Scarlet Bouquet, by Northern Taste. He won five G1s during his career and his half-sister Daiwa Scarlet won four G1s.

As a sire, he has been successful from year one as Curren Black Hill became the unbeaten G1 NHK Mile Cup winner. During his sire career, he sired many sprint and mile G1 winners including Copano Richard, Major Emblem, Reine Minoru, Admire Mars, Resistencia, Serifos, and Ascoli Piceno.

He also sired Double Major who won the G1 Prix Royal Oak in France. Daiwa Major quickly became a mainstream sire of sprinters and milers in the Japanese breeding scene.
