2021 Arc-winning jockey Rene Piechulek from Germany won his first race under JRA rules last Sunday on Roselle in the twelfth race at Nakayama Racecourse. His short-term license will last until March 3rd.

Rene Piechulek commented "Thank you to owners, trainers, and the people at JRA for providing me with such an amazing opportunity to ride in Japan. I knew the racing was different from Europe but I was still surprised by such a high level of racing. I was trying my best to adapt to the racing style in Japan, and finally, it paid off. Thank you to the fans for your big support and I will continue to do my best for fans."
