The Japan Association for International Racing and Stud Book has announced that G1 NHK Mile Cup winner Logic has passed away at the age of 21 on January 20th.

Logic was a son of Agnes Tachyon out of April Drama, by Sakura Yutaka O. His career record stands at three wins from 26 starts including the 2006 G1 NHK Mile Cup. He was crowned three-year-old Mile Champion. However, he remained in training until a six-year-old, but he failed to win a race.

Logic became a guide horse at Kyoto Racecourse after his retirement and made his debut in his second career on May 30th, 2010. It was the first time that a flat GI winner became a racecourse lead horse. From 2013 to 2017, he was available to ride at Miki Horseland Park, and then spent the remainder of his life at DEEP FIELD in Minamisoma, Fukushima Prefecture, as a subsidized horse for the Retired Famous Horses Connecting and Exhibiting Project.

Takahiro Fukano, representative of DEEP FIELD, said, "It must have been about six years since Logic arrived. He was a gentle horse who was quiet, friendly and would snuggle up to his fans when they came to visit. He also participated in the Soma Nomaoi and he was loved by many people even after he retired from racing. I remember his cute little face always peeking out from his stable." He added, "March 17th was his birthday, and I had hoped to celebrate it again this year, but I am very sorry. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all his fans, and everyone involved. Thank you very much."
