Byzantine Dream justified favouritism and remains unbeaten after sealing a tight victory in Sunday's G3 Kisaragi Sho under Rene Piechulek. A nose behind in second was Water Licht, whilst Shivers came home in third further nose away again. The winning time was 1:46.8.

Byzantine Dream is a son of Epiphaneia out of Japoni Chara, by Jungle Pocket. This is his second consecutive win after his success in the Newcomers last December at Hanshin Racecourse. The victory marked a first JRA-graded stakes success for jockey Rene Piechulek.
