The G1 Takamatsunomiya Kinen could be a special race for the family of Toshin Macau and Big Caesar. The pair aims to extend their family record to the fourth consecutive generation to win the JRA G1 titles.

Toshin Macau is a son of Big Arthur out of Yukino Mermaid by Special Week. He is a two-time G3 Keihan Hai winner and won the G3 Ocean Stakes last time out. Christophe Lemaire will be taking the reins for the first time. Big Caesar is also a son of Big Arthur out of Anna Perenna by Tale of Ekati. Although he never won a graded stakes, he is a four-time Open Class winner. He finished second behind Toshin Macau in the Ocean Stakes last time out and has the potential to run against graded stakes winners.

There have been a few families who achieved multi-generation winners at JRA G1 level, but there has been only one family who achieved four consecutive generations with a JRA G1 winner.

If Toshin Macau or Big Caesar wins the upcoming Takamatsunomiya Kinen, this family will join the family of Grass Wonder, starting from Sakura Yutaka O and now their sire Big Arthur.
