Forever Young with Ryusei Sakai on board gifted an emotional win for the trainer Yoshito Yahagi in the G2 UAE Derby. Yoshito Yahagi's father, Kazuto Yahagi - who is a former trainer at NAR Oi Racecourse and the mentor of Yoshito - passed away on the 30th just before the Dubai World Cup Day. Trainer Yahagi commented: "My father passed away on the 30th. I am happy to be able to gift this title to my father in heaven."

This is Forever Young's second consecutive win after he took out the G2 Saudi Derby last time out. On future plans, Yahagi added: "We are going to the G1 Kentucky Derby. I trust my team at the yard and we will send him to the US with everything perfectly prepared." Jockey Ryusei Sakai also commented: "We will be there as one of the champions. I am confident."
