On January 29th, the 2023 JRA Awards Ceremony and JRA Commendation Presentation Ceremony was held in Tokyo, attended by the connections of the winners from the various categories. Regaleira, became the first filly to win the G1 Hopeful Stakes against colts in December. Connections have announced that she will run in the Satsuki Sho (Japanese 2000 Guineas) in April. It has now been declared that Regaleira is also a likely runner in the Japanese Derby.

Shunsuke Yoshida, representative of Sunday Racing, Regaleira's owner group, said, "I think we will decide on her subsequent plans depending on how she races in the Satsuki Sho. However, if she competes well against the colt in the Satsuki Sho, I think the Derby will be an option."
