Jockey Mirai Iwata guided the favourite Costa Bonita to her first victory in a graded race, winning the G3 Fukushima Himba Stakes on Saturday. Positioned nicely in fourth throughout the race, she surged ahead in the straight, overtaking the second-place horse just before the finish line. The final time was 1:46.9. Feel Sympathy finished second, with Win Pixies taking third place.

Mirai Iwata commented, "I knew that the inside was favourable on today's track condition, and when the post positions were drawn, I thought we had a good chance. Although our run in the home stretch didn't go smoothly, she showed a good turn of foot in the end." With this victory, they secured priority entry for the G1 Victoria Mile on May 12th at Tokyo Racecourse. "She has excellent racing sense and a fantastic burst of speed in a split second. I believe she will continue to get stronger," Iwata added, expressing high hopes for further success in the future.
