Last year's G1 Kikuka Sho winner, Durezza (4-year-old colt), who finished well down the field in 15th in the G1 Tenno Sho (Spring), has been found to have an avulsion fracture of the proximal phalanx of the right first digit. The announcement was made by the owners' group Carrot Club on their website.

Following the race, examinations revealed slight periosteal elevation at the fetlock, leading to the diagnosis of a fracture by the veterinarian. It is expected to require at least a three-month rest, and future plans are currently undecided.

Regarding the horse, it was announced on April 25th that consideration was being given to registering for the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe, a G1 race scheduled for October 6th at ParisLongchamp in France, as one of the options for an autumn campaign.
